E-Vehicle Energy Storage

Indian Automobile Industries and Government is bringing revolution in Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) to reduce pollution, control climate change and prevent global warming caused due to gasoline vehicles. The major challenges in E-Mobility is energy storage and battery charging devices.

A typical hybrid electric vehicle runs on batteries that deliver 1-2 kilowatt-hours, but an electric vehicle needs 20 kilowatt-hours or more. This translates into 100 battery cells per vehicle and is where the weight, volume and performance of the battery pack become crucial factors.

Hub Motor Design & Challenges

The majority of hub motor is designed and manufactured in China and other Asian countries except India, where India stands nowhere in manufacturing of these devices. Although the E-Mobility manufacturers in India prefers Hub Motors than that of Brushless DC Motors or Induction Motors in vehicles because they don’t require additional gearbox which saves cost while manufacturing.

Precision Engineering - Defence Sector

Government of India is promoting in house manufacturing of Defence machinery and Arms under the Initiative of Make In India program. Considering this team AERIC is also working towards designing defence parts and machineries with highest precision and accuracy.
